Publishing Industry Lowdown (June 25-June 29)

It’s that day again–time for Sooz’s YA and MG Publishing Industry Lowdown. The general idea is that I share all the deals I know 0f in the young adult and middle grade publishing world each Friday.

My source for deal news is Publishers Marketplace, which requires a paid subscription. As such I’m only sharing part of the information here–basically, just author names and pitches. If you want to know deal sizes (e.g. advances), editors, publishers, and agents, I highly recommend you sign up for PM–it’s totally worth the cost!

So, this week was busier than last week, but still SUPER quiet. Ah, the beauty of publishing’s summer schedule…

Other Stuff

Sorry to push my own links on you, but these days, I don’t get much time to Explore The Interwebs. I haven’t even watched the final Korra yet (GASP O_O I KNOW) because I’ve had too much Other Stuff to do. Alas…

If you haven’t entered the giveaway for a pre-order of Something Strange and Deadly + 2 signed bookplates, then you can do that here.

If you haven’t taken a sneak peek at the Official Something Strange and Deadly book trailer OR signed up for the ARC tour giveaway, signed book giveaway, or book swag package giveaway, then you can do that here. Oh, but you have to do the Scavenger Hunt first! 😉 It’s easy, though–I promise.

Finally, there are some other places on the web to win copies of the book. HarperTeen is giving it away on Goodreads and Lady Blythe Harris (♥) is giving it away on her blog.

Finally, if you have any insight to offer on YOUR favorite necklace, please share! So far, everyone’s suggestions and preferences have been INVALUABLE. Thanks guys–really. I ♥ you all so very much.

You tell me: Do YOU have any big news to share?
