A Bunch of Links…and some shameFUL self-promotion
First off: if you haven’t seen The YAmazing Race with MGnificent Prizes over on the Apocalypsies site, BE SURE to check it out. There is SO much cool swag you could be winning. ๐
—
Second: Have you heard of Write Dreams? It’s an auction to raise money for Donna’s Dream House, a home for children and teens with life-threatening disease. This wonderful place was struck by arsonists in December, and not only did they steal all of the home’s computers, but they burned the building beyond repair.
There’s lots of great stuff to bid on now, and TOMORROW, I’ll be offering a 50-page + query letter critique. Be sure to check it out (and…bid?? It’s for a good cause!).

Next: remember that whole Something Strange & Deadlyย ARC contest?
It’s still running…and will be all week. Yesterday, the wonderful Fussy Monkey (also known by her civilian name, Erinnย ;)) posted a lovely review of SS&D. My heart is still all warm and, well, fuzzy (but not fussy).
(I know many of you are writers, so you know just how EXCRUCIATING it is to have your work go “public”. Even getting feedback from you close buddy and crit partner can make your stomach twist in ways you know God never intended it to twist. So getting a “good” review is like…like eating a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie at the end of a dreadful day.)
Today, the amazing Insect Collector (civilian name: Kat) is interviewing me about what it’s like to work with an editor. Main gist of the interview? Working with an editor or publisher wasn’t quiteย what I expected…like, at all.
And of course, on Thursday, I’m over on Y(A)? Cuz We Write (civilian names: Quita & Pam) talking about my writing process. And on Friday, I’ll be on Slice of the Blog Pie (civilian name: Alicia) discussing my revisions process.

Numero four, the Pub(lishing) Crawl launch is still going strong. Yesterday, I was reintroduced (along with the fabulous Sarah J. Maas and Vanessa Di Gregorio), and you now have a chance to WIN A WORKSHOP LECTURE PACKET!
Remember when Sarah and I taught the Nautilus Writing for Young Adults Workshop back in July? Well, all the lessons from that workshop are up for grabs.
Plus, there are still other giveaways running: a copy of The Girl of Fire and Thorns, copies of A View From Saturday and Hold Me Closer, Necromancer, a copy of Legend, and an ARC of Article 5ย + a copy of The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making.

And finally: if you’re a hardcore Avatar: the Last Airbender fan (as I am), then you will be just as OVERJOYED as I was to see these videos (sorry, I can’t embed them!). A huge thanks to Katie A., a.k.a. @Bookyurtย for showing me those…
And just in caseย you missed the trailer, here it is:
I’m thinking I should dress up as Korra for Comic Con. Thoughts?? ๐
You tell me:ย Am I getting annoying with all these giveaway links? Do YOU have any giveaways to share?

Korra is such a BADASS. As much as I liked Aang, I’m happy that Korra isn’t hesitant like him when it comes to fighting. It’s still sad that most of the old gang have passed away though (but it said somewhere that Zuko’s voice actor was coming back– so at least we have him in spirit? Haha! Or maybe I’m just rejoicing because I liked the quality of his voice– kind of quiet and whispery).ย
Ooh, good luck to the people entering the ARC contest! ๐ I don’t think I can because it’s only for US-residents ;w;ย

Oh, boo–I didn’t even think about the US-only restrictions. ::sigh:: Sorry about that, Rae!!
And Zuko’s voice?! WOOT! He has a super-sexy-voice, if you ask me. ๐

Mako and Bolin! Haha, I remember when I first read about them– I had to do a double take when I read that one was a firebender and the other was an earthbender XD I kept thinking,”Is that even possible?” But I’m glad they thought to add something different! It would’ve been terribly out of place for something like that to happen during The Last Airbender.

THAT WAS MY FIRST REACTION TOO! *Is* it possible for them to be brothers? I guess it is…
AAAND, I’m totally in love with Mako already. He’s a hottie. ๐

Oh! I would love to win your 50-page + query letter critique!! But I’m sure I’ll be outbid and I more than likely won’t have the mula for it ๐ I took part in the YAmazing Race. It was really fun. I’m off to check out your interviews ๐

Well, no one has bid yet, Julie!! ๐

There are bids now and they are in British pounds ๐ Not good for me, but good for Donna’s Dream House! Good luck to the people who enter!

As an extremely avid (verging on unhealthily avid) Avatar fan, I share the excitement for Korra tenfold. All that’s left is to wait until its released (which will be sometime this year, thank goodness)

I KNOW. THIS YEAR. This summer, I heard!! I literally google “Legend of Korra” every single day now…just THINKING about it makes my stomach twist in knots (happy, excited, kinda desperate knots).

I’m the same! When I saw the scene I freaked out and then showed everyone I know that was within reach

I seriously have to rewatch the Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra Again. Just a few days ago I was watching some of Toph’s best moments and Azula’s coronation and my love for TLA was reignited.
Also, you should totally dress up as Korra for comic con but I also think that you’d make an excellent Azula, not in personality of course because you’re a sweetheart!
