NaNoWriMo 2013, Week 2!
Every path has its puddles. We just have to hop over them. Or power through. Possibly even scoot around.
But remember this: no oneΒ is going to show up and drape a coat over the puddle so you can cross un-splashed. You’re gonna have to get muddy, and that’s part of the fun. Tromp through. Embrace the mess. Stop for no puddles. And soon you’ll get back to a warm, cozy patch of trail unblocked.
*#NaNoCadets FIGHTING!*
You tell me: Have you hit any puddles yet? I totally have…Like, at least two. π

Love this analogy! Um, yes. Puddles. Copy edits for my second book came, which was a huge puddle. I’m getting nice and muddy right now. π And then a plot issue whose answer I’m pretty sure is stuck at the very bottom of a very muddy puddle. I’m given into diving into the puddle head first to find it. I’m pretty sure it’s here– I just need to keep searching…

Second off: You got it. I know you do. I know YOU know you do, but I’m just cheering you on anyway. <3

Lots and lots of puddles. I’m playing in those puddles, though. π

YAY!!! I love the puddles. I’m tromping through as well and learning all sorts of things about my story and myself along the way…

So many puddles. Week two is definitely a tough one. I’ve thought about just going back down the path the way I came because of all the puddles but thankfully me being the crazily determined person I am I’m sticking with it and slowly wading through. Thanks for the motivation. I’m super glad you made me want to try this. It’s really made me believe that I can write

You CAN write, Lauren. You really, really, REALLY can. Like, I know this because if I can, then you can.
Now let’s all tromp through these puddles together! HUZZAH!!

Puddles … yes. Lots of ’em. Like, unexpectedly not writing for a day, staying in bed marathoning The Vampire Diaries and The Originals when I SHOULD be writing, having my cheerfully-standalone fantasy novel turn around and say “Um, hi, person who’s writing me, could you possibly write two extra books to keep me company?”, having to completely rethink the mythology of the world I’m writing in to make the story work (which is where the two extra books came from, after realising it couldn’t be done in just one) …
So, yes. I have been splashing in lots of puddles this week. But I’m wearing welly boots, so it’s all fine. π
I’ve been a bad #NaNoCadet this week, as well, and haven’t been posting my positives or joining in with many word sprints. Lots of unexpected stuff’s going on. But I SHALL prevail! I’m heading on over to Twitter right now to see if anyone’s up for a #BAMFWordBattle. π
And … I guess I had a lot to unload there. *sheepish grin* Sorry ’bout that. But your posts totally hit the right notes and you have an uncanny way of posting exactly what I need to hear/read to keep my head up high. So, thank you Sooz, for once again being totally awesome. π
Happy writing!

Awwww, I’m so glad my posts help you persist. ROSANNA FIGHTING!! We got this. We soooooo got this. I also did more than I should have of not-writing this week. I might’ve read a few books…and then played more Fable 2 than was really necessary (but it’s soooo funnnnn!) And of course, I leave town tomorrow…but that’s okay. I’m bringing my work with me. 14 hour plane right, woohoo!! π
WE SHALL PREVAIL!

AYE, THAT WE SHALL!
Cool coincidence: I’m ALSO leaving town today — for a weekend of writing with my totally BAMF friend who’s also doing NaNoWriMo! Also, HELLO two-hour train journey! My laptop and I will definitely be making the most of you!
Thanks so much for cheering me on, Sooz! Have a FANTASTIC time in Australia and enjoy your well-deserved holiday! π (SOOZ FIGHTING!! On the plane! The BAMFest plane flight ever!)
